Promoting More In-Depth Tours of Tainan: The YanShui Yuejin Harbor Stroll Launches on the 24th

In recent years, the Tainan City Government’s Tourism Bureau has been promoting low-carbon, in-depth, and enriching travel experiences to help visitors better understand Tainan. On May 24 (Saturday), it will launch the “YanShui Yuejin Harbor Stroll.” Led by professional guides, participants will explore the town of YanShui, gaining deeper insights into its historical charm and experiencing the revival of the elegance of Yuejin Harbor. Members of the public can start making reservations online via the booking system from 8 AM on the 9th.

The Tourism Bureau stated that in recent years, the city government has actively promoted YanShui. In addition to successfully including the “YanShui Beehive Rockets Festival” in Taiwan’s Tourism Calendar as one of the representative international events in Taiwan, the bureau has also organized the “YanShui Yuejin Harbor Lantern Festival” for three consecutive years, attracting large numbers of visitors. To offer visitors a deeper understanding of YanShui, the Tourism Bureau willofficially launch the “YanShui Yuejin Harbor Stroll” guided tour service on Saturday, May 24, with a planned walking route.

The stroll begins at Qiaonan Old Street, lined with traditional shop-house architecture, then winds through the streetscape of Zhongzheng Road featuring old-style Western-style Baroque buildings, passes by the 370-year-old Hobei Temple, visits the YanShui Catholic Church—home to one of the few remaining Eastern versions of “The Last Supper” in the world, strolls past the Dazhong Temple known as the “Gathering Wave Fishing Fires,” explores the Xiude Worship Pavilion, an important local Buddhist site, admires the uniquely shaped Octagonal Tower, and stops by the wooden, Japanese-style Yongcheng Theater. In addition, the YanShui Yuejin Harbor Waterfront Park, perfect for a tranquil walk, is also not to be missed.

To complement the walking route, the Tourism Bureau has also produced beautifully designed stroll maps available free of charge to visitors. These include brief historical and locational introductions to various attractions in the YanShui area, recommended cultural and craft shops to visit, as well as dining and accommodation suggestions along the way, helping visitors make the most of the leaflet’s information to explore YanShui’s various sites.

The “YanShui Yuejin Harbor Stroll” guided tours are scheduled every Saturday at 3 PM, led by professional guides on a city walking journey. Each session accommodates around 20 people, with each guided tour lasting 2–3 hours. The meeting point is at Qiaonan Old Street (the FamilyMart next to YanShui Bridge, No. 1 Nanshan Road, YanShui District), and visitors can take the Tainan Main Line Bus Brown Line to get there.
