After opening three outlets in the Taichung area, Kura Sushi is finally launching its second branch in Taipei — the Taipei Guanting Branch, located near Taipei Main Station. The official Kura Sushi Facebook page also announced on the 21st that the Taipei Guanting Branch will officially open on July 4. The Facebook fan page has also posted the first look at the interior of the Taipei Guanting Branch, which has 235 seats, making it the branch with the most seats among all global outlets.

Kura Sushi Taiwan’s first branch, “Songjiang Nanjing Branch,” began trial operations at the end of 2014. After more than two years, it is finally opening its second branch in the Taipei Main Station area — the “Taipei Guanting Branch.” In addition to the fixed price of NT$40 per sushi plate, Kura Sushi’s biggest highlight is its surprise-filled gashapon (capsule toy) machines. After finishing every five plates (automatically calculated upon returning the plates), an animated sequence appears on the touchscreen, and winners can receive a gashapon.

As for future expansion plans, Kura Sushi aims to have 10 branches in Taiwan this year.
