The Happiness Train is departing！Yilan’s “mobile cinema” rolls into 12 townships

Take a movie trip this weekend！The Yilan County Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau has recently launched a “mobile” cinema initiative, bringing film art to the grassroots by traveling deep into 12 townships. This program is called the “Happiness Train Mobile Cinema.”

Starting from Yilan, the “Happiness Train” of the mobile cinema heads both northbound to Toucheng, Jiaoxi, Zhuangwei, and Yuanshan, and southbound to Wujie, Luodong, Dongshan, Sanxing, Su’ao, Datong, and Nan’ao. The Yilan County Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that this event features 12 popular award-winning films, including Ang Lee’s Oscar-winning 2013 film *Life of Pi*, the inspirational true-story film *Our Times*—which won Best Director and Best Actress at the Golden Horse Awards—*The Grandmaster*, *I Am Not Madam Bovary*, *The Days of Flying Geese*, and more. Except for weekday screenings in Su’ao, Datong, and Nan’ao, all other showings take place on weekends.

The “Happiness Train Mobile Cinema” event runs from now until the end of August, with screenings held consecutively at libraries across the county’s 12 townships. After watching a movie, participants can get a stamp on their event card, and collecting four stamps earns them an exquisite small gift.
