"Queen of Architecture" Designs Dubai’s Newest Hotel – Every Room Features Designer Furniture

Dubai is arguably a paradise for architects in the world — any out-of-the-box idea, even ones you haven’t imagined, can probably be found here. The exterior of the latest hotel building joining the skyline competition has been unveiled. Do you think Dubai has made a breakthrough this time?

According to Lonely Planet, this boutique hotel namedThe Opus is set to open by the end of 2018. It was designed by Zaha Hadid, the world’s first female architect to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize and a British designer known as the "Queen of Architecture" in the field. Hadid has many works around the world, including Taiwan’s still-under-bid "Danjiang Bridge." She also participated in the design competitions for the originally planned Guggenheim Museum in Taichung and the National Taichung Theater.

Me Dubai consists of two tower-like buildings connected by a curved tubular structure. Hadid personally designed the interiors of this boutique hotel, which will feature 93 guest rooms and suites, as well as 98 service apartments. The furniture in the lobby, café, lounge, and reception center is all eye-catching — either uniquely designed pieces or carefully selected by Hadid.

This hotel group has locations in Miami, Milan, London, and Ibiza, but the added cultural elements in this Dubai project are highly anticipated this time around.
