Summer Travel Expo kicks off on the 23rd; two major shows – Korean “Wedding” and “Typhoon” – to perform in succession

Taiwan’s largest summer travel expo, the “Taipei International Tourism Expo,” sees tourism representative offices from various countries pulling out all the stops. The Korea Tourism Organization Taipei Branch has invited two world-renowned Korean performance troupes this year — the “Wedding Music Show” and the “Typhoon Dance Show” — to perform in Taiwan. Both of these famous Korean shows will be staged daily during the expo.

The lively and cheerful musical “Wedding” depicts the humorous interactions between the bride and groom and the father of the bride during their wedding ceremony. It is a sister production to the well-known non-verbal performance “Nanta.” When it premiered at the world’s top-tier Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2013, it sold out every show and received high praise. The performers not only need strong acting skills but must also master advanced musical instrument techniques. With its rich storyline and humorous presentation, it has now become another iconic performing art in Korea. Meanwhile, making its Taiwan debut, “Typhoon” is an ultra-dynamic show that combines martial arts, B-boy, and HIP POP dance moves. The story begins with a magical vest — whoever wears it can fulfill their dreams and reach their ideal state.
