Tokyo Skytree Celebrates Its 2nd Anniversary with a 4-Show-a-Day Light Display

Marking its two-year anniversary in May, Tokyo Skytree has launched limited-edition merchandise in collaboration with Disney. From now until June 1st, the “Tokyo Skytree Light Show” will be held every evening, showcasing a stunning mix of special light displays from past festivals lighting up the Tokyo night sky.

The “Tokyo Skytree Light Show” changes its theme every hour between 7 PM and 11 PM, offering four different light displays each day. In addition to the regularly featured themes “Makoto (Purity)” and “Mi (Elegance),” there are also special light shows celebrating Tokyo’s successful bid to host the 2020 Olympics, as well as displays for Tanabata, New Year, and cherry blossom season—totaling nine major themes and 18 variations that can only be seen during this period.
