Still wondering where to go for the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday? From May 31 to June 1, at the public parking lot of Nankunshen Daitian Temple under the management of the Yunlin-Kaohsiung-Tainan Coastal National Scenic Area Administration in Tainan City, the “2014 Ping’an Salt Festival Series Event – Xinxuan Cup Chinese Racing Association Drift Competition” will ignite with excitement in Tainan.

Mr. Lu Jianhong, Chairman of the Chinese Racing Association, stated that since the association's establishment in 1998, it has organized various racing events including the HuaiSheng Airport Drag Race, the DaJiang Cup Drift Competition, the Yong’an Cup Drift Competition, the Kenting Supercar Party, various new car launch events, motorsport activities, and hosting the OP Cup. The aim is to enhance the visibility of Taiwan’s touring car racing through international competitions. In the future, they hope to offer more choices for motorsport enthusiasts, enrich the diversity and options of Taiwan’s racing culture, and deepen the public’s understanding of racing sports.

Mr. Zheng Rongzhe, Director of the Yunlin-Kaohsiung-Tainan Management Office, expressed that this event is part of the 2014 Ping’an Salt Festival series and also serves as a warm-up for the main Ping’an Salt Festival to be held in October. The decision to provide the venue for the Chinese Racing Association was mainly to add variety to events, generate public interest, attract more tourists to the area, and boost the development of local related industries. He welcomes the public to come and experience this beautiful and thrilling extreme sport during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.

The “2014 Ping’an Salt Festival Series Event – Xinxuan Cup Chinese Racing Association Drift Competition” will take place from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on both May 31 and June 1. The preliminary round will be held on May 31, while the finals will be on June 1. On June 1, in addition to inviting well-known drivers to compete in the drift competition, there will also be displays of million-dollar supercars, motorcycles, special vehicles, a photo session with glamorous race queens, and a food and fun carnival. The public can experience the exceptional drifting skills and tire-smoking power slides of Taiwan’s drift racers during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
