The most expensive option, the large-sized cold noodles, costs only NT$40, while a bowl of miso soup is under NT$15 and comes with free refills for dine-in, making it incredibly affordable and great value.

Jiawei Cold Noodles
Jiawei Cold Noodles only serves cold noodles as its main dish, with three flavors available: sesame paste, douban (chili bean paste), and vegetarian. The sesame paste cold noodles have a well-balanced flavor—the peanut taste isn’t particularly strong, and paired with a light hint of garlic, it’s refreshing yet richly aromatic. Liang Ji Cold Noodles, which has been in business for nearly 30 years, is located in the Dongcheng area and is a popular spot among local office workers. The price difference between the small and large portions of cold noodles isn’t significant—it’s more economical to go for the larger portion, which comes with a more generous serving. The sesame paste here is quite plentiful, almost covering the entire bowl of noodles. Once mixed evenly, the noodles are coated in sauce, and a drizzle of spicy sauce adds a numbing and spicy kick that’s truly satisfying.

This hidden gem, Dai Ji Cold Noodles, is tucked away in the Minsheng community and offers three flavors: original, douban, and shredded pork with pickled mustard greens. What sets it apart from other cold noodle shops is that it doesn’t serve miso soup but instead offers a rich bone broth made from pork bones. The first sip is refreshingly sweet and clear, making it incredibly addictive and a perfect match for the cold noodles. There are also other soup options such as meatball soup and egg-drop soup.

Pingtung Ren Ji Cold Noodles
Ren Ji Cold Noodles, which started in Pingtung in 1959, has branches in Kaohsiung and Taipei. The noodles here are slightly thicker than regular oil noodles. The sauce is made from sesame paste, sugar, and vinegar, with a sprinkle of peanut powder, paired with refreshing cucumber slices and bean sprouts. For those who enjoy spice, you can also add Ren Ji’s homemade chili sauce for an even more satisfying experience.
