Koshien fever continues to soar

As the largest city in the Kansai region and one of the “Top Five Most Visited Japanese Cities” by Taiwanese travelers, Osaka attracted large numbers of tourists in the first half of the year, driven by events such as Koshien Stadium activities, cherry blossom viewing, and the Abeno Harukas building. In the second half of the year, major travel events include the newly opened “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” at Universal Studios Japan in July, the autumn foliage season in September, the Osaka Marathon in October, and more.

As a result, after officially increasing the frequency of its Osaka route to two flights per day in March this year, TransAsia Airways has also established an Osaka office in the bustling Umeda district—the most vibrant area of Osaka—to meet the growing travel demand between Taiwan and Japan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Osaka office, TransAsia Airways General Manager Hsu I-tsung stated that Osaka was the first regular destination in Japan launched by the airline. Moving forward, TransAsia will establish Tokyo and Osaka as its two key bases in the Kanto and Kansai regions respectively, serving as dual engines to drive its business in the Japanese market.

TransAsia Airways also noted that in addition to being the first to increase Osaka flight frequency in March, it plans to add 20 round-trip flights per month to the Okinawa route between May and July. Meanwhile, the Taipei (Taoyuan)–Tokyo route is also scheduled to increase from one daily flight to two, making travel and business trips more convenient for passengers.
