The biggest summer water event in northern Taiwan — the “Yilan International Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival” — has been scheduled to take place from July 5 to August 24 at the Dongshan River Water Park.

This year marks the 19th edition of the “Yilan International Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival.” The Yilan County Government has specially invited artist Xiao Qingyang and illustrator Jimmy Liao to collaborate on this year’s theme, “Jump,” infusing the festival with innovative energy. Xiao Qingyang has also incorporated elements such as bouncing balls, smiling faces, and Journey to the West into the main visual design.

In line with this year’s theme, the Yilan County Government has also created three major highlights within the park: the “Magical Voyage of the Seed Ship” by artist Lin Shunlong, the “Jumping Village Creative Picture Book Museum” featuring top domestic and international picture book artists, and a brand-new water game called “White Waves Roaring.”

In addition, the organizers plan to invite 23 performance groups from 18 countries including Japan, South Korea, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines to perform in Taiwan.
