New Taipei City Water Bus Free Rides Now Available for Seniors and People with Disabilities

Since its launch last July, the New Taipei City Water Bus has partnered with the Taipei City Government to allow more elderly and people with disabilities to go outdoors and enjoy recreational activities. Starting now, seniors aged 65 and above and people with disabilities in both Taipei and New Taipei cities can ride for free by presenting their Senior or Care cards on the EasyCard.
The New Taipei City Water Bus currently operates two routes: “Huajiang Wharf — Zhongxiao Wharf” and “Zhongxiao Wharf — Dadaocheng Wharf.” The full fare is NT$15. Since its inauguration, the service has carried around 6,000 passengers per month, and all three wharfs offer barrier-free boarding services. Following discussions between the New Taipei City Government and the Taipei City Government, it has been decided to include the water bus in the EasyCard discount program.
