First free trial rides of Taichung BRT launched: Free reservations available from June 16 for the Donghai–Providence University route

Taichung’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is set to begin operations, and the transit company will open reservations for trial rides on the “Donghai Villa–Providence University” section. The first round of trial rides will take place from June 28 to July 14. Members of the public can sign up via the Taichung City Government’s official website or the Transportation Bureau.

The transit company stated that the first round of trial rides will be available daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with each ride lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, and all rides are completely free. The public is required to make group reservations for 20–50 people seven days prior to the intended ride date, but individuals may also apply, and the transit company will assist in forming groups. On the day of the trial ride, participants will first gather at Taichung Railway Station before boarding the BRT bus. A guide on board will provide explanations about the vehicle’s equipment, features, and how to get on and off. Participants may also choose to disembark anywhere along the trial route.
