With summer vacation approaching, Taiwan High-Speed Rail is gearing up for the peak tourist season by adding 9 extra train services per week from July 27 to August 31. This brings the total number of weekly services to 962. For the first time, early-bird tickets with a 10% discount will be available for 4 trains during the morning peak on Saturdays. The additional services are now open for ticket booking.

THSR stated that up to 821 services per week are eligible for early-bird discounts. Among these, 78 services offer an across-the-board 65% discount, while 222 services provide a 90% discount (which also includes limited-time early-bird discounts of 65% and 80%). Passengers can reserve these tickets 8 to 28 days before their departure date, while supplies last. Additionally, 277 designated services are available with 50% or 70% discounts for university students, allowing them to “ride the high-speed rail and explore Taiwan”!
