Celebrate daily non-stop flights between Tainan and Hong Kong! Weekly iPad mini giveaways in the departure lounge every Friday

Tainan to Hong Kong flights give away an iPad mini every week! Since the launch of daily non-stop flights on March 30, China Airlines has been holding public iPad mini raffles in the departure lounge every Friday from April to June. As of June 6, 10 lucky winners have been drawn, with 3 more weeks of raffle opportunities remaining. The availability of daily flights has made travel to Taiwan via the Tainan–Hong Kong route increasingly convenient. To promote this route, the city government has collaborated with China Airlines to offer iPad mini giveaways, and partnered with the Hong Kong Office of Taiwan's Tourism Bureau to provide 2,000 one-day Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 8899 transit tickets.

The Tourism Bureau stated that the launch of this route marks an important step in the development of Tainan’s tourism industry. It not only benefits residents of Tainan, but also serves a catchment area of 3 million people living north of Kaohsiung’s Gangshan District, including Tainan, Chiayi, and Yunlin. Since the route’s inaugural direct flight on July 18, 2013 (Year 102), the Tainan–Hong Kong route operated by China Airlines initially offered three weekly flights. This increased to five flights per week on December 28, 2013, and then expanded to daily flights starting March 30, 2014 (Year 103). As of May 2014, the cumulative number of passengers reached 15,737 departures and 20,552 arrivals, totaling 36,289 passengers, with an overall load factor of around 70%. From March 30 to May 2014, following the introduction of daily flights, the load factor further rose to 80% for both April and May, demonstrating strong performance.

With daily flights now in operation, travelers from Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China find it increasingly convenient to visit Taiwan via the Tainan–Hong Kong route. To promote the route, the city government has partnered with China Airlines to offer iPad mini giveaways and collaborated with the Hong Kong Office of Taiwan's Tourism Bureau to provide 2,000 one-day Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 8899 transit tickets. Starting March 30, it also offers free copies of the Tainan Free Exploration Travel Guidebook to foreign passengers arriving in Tainan from Hong Kong and to travelers who purchase China Airlines’ Premium Leisure Tours.
