World Rainforest Music Festival to Kick Off for Three Days Starting June 22 in Kuching

The annual World Rainforest Music Festival is set to take Malaysia by storm, running for three consecutive days from June 20 to 22. Musicians and music enthusiasts from around the globe will gather in Kuching to celebrate and immerse themselves in music amidst nature. Launched in 1997 and driven by the Sarawak Tourism Board, last year’s festival attracted over 20,000 attendees. Now in its 17th edition, this year’s event will feature many musical styles and elements never tried before. The festival will be held at the Sarawak Cultural Village, nestled between Mount Santubong and the South China Sea. This stunning mountain-and-sea setting isn’t just a great place to enjoy music — during the day, various workshops offer opportunities to learn singing, dancing, and traditional arts from around the world.

When night falls, the two main stages come alive with captivating performances as musicians from across the globe take turns on stage. This year, artists from as far away as Germany, Tanzania, and Canada have been invited. Confirmed acts include England’s Blackbeard’s Tea Party, Japan’s Ryuz, India’s Karinthalakoottam, and Spain’s Kalakan, among many other renowned bands, who will rock the festival alongside music lovers.
