Eighty-Eight Balaz Seeds, MATZKA, and 15 Other Bands Make a Strong Comeback at the Ocean Music Festival

The 15th New Taipei City Gongliao International Ocean Music Festival is set to take place from July 9 to 13. In addition to hosting themed events from July 10 to 13—including “Roar High Asia,” “Taike Rock Comes with Praise,” “Ocean Independent Music Awards,” and “Rock Together Across the Seas”—this year’s festival will especially invite bands that once shone on the Ocean Music Festival stage, such as Eighty-Eight Balaz Seeds, MATZKA, and Suming, to return on the first day. They will bring back the passion and outstanding performances from the past 15 years to the Ocean Music Festival stage.

To recreate the glory of past award wins, Eighty-Eight Balaz Seeds also performed their song “Triangle” at the launch press conference, symbolizing that this year’s Ocean Music Festival will feature more award-winning bands or musicians delivering performances with special meaning.

New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Chen Shenxian stated that 15 years of the Ocean Festival is an important milestone. This event has been specially themed as “come together,” and the New Taipei City Government has gone all out to invite past award-winning bands and musicians to reunite on the Ocean Festival stage. On the first day, July 9, bands including Eighty-Eight Balaz Seeds, Pou Hou Xiao Tian ft. Spinning Butterfly, Fake Dead Cat Pee, Suming, Pang Hu, Biao Er, Bai Mu, MATZKA, Queen’s Suitcase, Boxing (Fist), and Casual Band will all “come back stage.”

The New Taipei City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau also stated that the top 10 finalists of this year’s “Ocean Independent Music Awards” will include performances by Savakan Band, P!sco, Hi Jack, Wang Shun, Light • Band, Taipei Public Case, Taiwan Shuang Band, Non-Human Species, Heavy Hitter, and Ha Xiao Ma.
