Satisfy your curiosity at this Italian gelato specialty store that constantly develops new flavors

Summer is coming. Since the strawberry-flavored ice cream from FamilyMart last winter sold like crazy across Taiwan, many cities and counties have seen an ice cream revolution. This trend has now reached Yilan. This place, Dancing Cream, sells more premium ice cream and soft serve, and their flavor names are quite fun—very much like ABBA song titles!!

The store is located near Yilan City’s Dongmen Night Market. On the way back home, we spotted it—it’s a brand-new building next to the relocated Old Fu Fish Ball Rice Noodles.

They spent quite a bit on the decor, using a Tiffany blue color scheme that’s really eye-catching.

It had just opened, and it was evening with rain. We passed by without seeing a crowd, so my little hazelnut bun and I came down to check it out.

Their Italian gelato comes in quite a few flavors.

I heard the shop often experiments with making different new flavors too.

Friends who love trying new things should be able to enjoy some unique and fresh flavors here.

The staff were very polite and let us sample the flavors we wanted to try. By the way—my husband Ben is a bit of an oddball. After trying many of the flavors the lady recommended, he actually ended up ordering the one he hadn’t tried because he said, “That way I get to taste everything!”

We ordered a Tiramisu soft serve, as well as green tea and rum raisin ice cream (one cup with two flavors for 80 NT).

Today’s Tiramisu soft serve had a texture similar to regular soft serve, with flavors of Tiramisu and a hint of coffee. Jean really liked it.

The green tea and rum raisin ice cream had a very smooth and creamy texture. Ben especially loved the green tea flavor, and the rum raisin was pretty good too. Plus, Italian gelato has lower milk fat compared to American-style ice cream, making it a bit healthier!!! Flavor-wise, it was pretty good, but serving it in a paper cup was a bit of a letdown. If they could pair it with nicer serving ware, I think the overall experience would be even better.
