Tasked with promoting Taiwan’s tourism, “Taiwan Oh Bear” has a packed schedule in the second half of the year. Aside from overseas promotional missions, the adorable mascot will take on various dynamic roles, traveling across the island to participate in countless tourism events. Not only will it attempt to cycle up Wuling, but it will also officiate weddings under the sacred trees of Alishan for couples tying the knot.

The Tourism Bureau revealed that Taiwan Oh Bear will adopt different outfits and skills aligned with the bureau’s six major tourism themes in the second half of the year: cuisine, shopping, culture, wellness, ecology, and romance. First up, at the August food exhibition, Oh Bear will appear as a chef, showcasing Taiwan’s delicious offerings. In November’s cycling festival, it will don cycling gear and hit the road—possibly taking on the challenge of cycling up Wuling or pedaling along the world-renowned Sun Moon Lake bicycle path. The romantic side of “Oh Bear” will also shine as it officiates a wedding under the sacred trees of Alishan, helping couples create unforgettable memories.

The Tourism Bureau described “Oh Bear” as a Sagittarius “golden bachelor,” whose primary mission is to promote Taiwan’s tourism. By leveraging the mascot’s versatile charm in relentless domestic and international promotional efforts, the bureau hopes to attract more international travelers to discover Taiwan.
