Travel website reveals the most satisfying airlines of 2013: Singapore Airlines tops, EVA Air ranks 6th

Recruit Lifestyle, the operator of Japan’s largest travel website“Recruit Lifestyle”, recently announced the 2013 ranking of the most satisfying airlines for travelers. Singapore Airlines claimed the top spot for the third consecutive year with a high score of 4.26, while EVA Air also made the list, ranking 6th.

The website surveyed nearly 5,000 netizens aged 18 and above who had traveled abroad in 2013. Respondents rated five aspects — facilities, cabin crew service quality, ground staff service quality, in-flight meal quality, and in-flight entertainment — using a five-point scale: very satisfied (5 points), quite satisfied (4 points), average (3 points), not very satisfied (2 points), and not satisfied (1 point). The average scores were then used to compile a ranking of the top 10 airlines with the highest overall satisfaction.

Based on the average of the five scores, Singapore Airlines ranked first with 4.26 points. All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines came in second and third with 4.21 and 4.13 points respectively. Taiwan’s EVA Air scored 4.01 points, placing sixth. Air New Zealand showed the most improvement, jumping from outside the top 20 in 2012 to 8th place this year.
