Starting July, fees apply at Dongshan River Eco Green Boat—free for Yilan residents

Yilan’s Dongshan River Eco Oasis features Taiwan’s only railway that runs through the park, with vast greenery and convenient transportation, making it a popular tourist spot in Dongshan Township. To align with the user-pays principle, the Yilan County Government announced that starting July 1, an on-site cleaning and maintenance fee of NT$30 per person will be charged.

The Dongshan River Eco Green Boat is close to Dongshan Railway Station and Provincial Highway 9, offering convenient access and a natural ecological environment. It also boasts the nation’s only railway bridge running through the park. Since its opening on April 22, 2016, it has welcomed approximately 680,000 visitors. This year, one of Yilan’s four major flagship events—the “Green Expo”—was held here for the first time. During the event, activities along the strip connecting Dongshan Railway Station and Daozhi Station, as well as special exhibition areas, further enhanced the park’s and Dongshan Township’s tourism appeal and visibility.

In line with the user-pays principle, the Yilan County Government recently announced that starting July 1, 2017, an on-site cleaning and maintenance fee will be officially charged. The fee is NT$30 per person, collected on a per-entry basis between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM daily.Residents of Yilan County, children under 115 cm in height, and children under 6 years old are exempt from the fee.Additionally, individuals presenting a disability card and one accompanying person are also exempt. This fee aims to promote environmental awareness among visitors and improve the quality of scenic recreational areas.
