Admire the beauty of Helsinki – this is the place to be

It’s the peak of summer, and perhaps travelers are looking to head to a Nordic country to escape the scorching heat. Below areblog.visithelsinkisix of the best spots to take in the views of Finland’s capital, Helsinki, as compiled by

1. Linnanmäki Amusement Park

The Linnanmäki observation tower stands 53 meters tall. You can visit this tower for free when the amusement park is open. There’s also a Ferris wheel called “Rinkeli” that’s 34 meters high. Each ride costs €8 (about NT$320), and from these spots, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Kallio district. Photography enthusiasts will find the vantage points here absolutely fantastic.

2. Finnair Wheel

The brand-new 40-meter-high Ferris wheel officially opened in June 2014 in Katajanokka. Through its aqua-blue windows, you can clearly see the city center. It’s also a great spot to admire Helsinki, Uspenski Cathedral, and the Market Square. Adult tickets for the Finnair Wheel cost €12 (about NT$480). Each ride lasts about 12 minutes.

3. Ateljee Bar on the rooftop of Hotel Torni

Ateljee Bar, located at the top of Hotel Torni, features both east-facing and west-facing terraces. Aside from enjoying the mesmerizing sunset, you can also relax with a variety of beers.

Interestingly, even the bathroom offers breathtaking views of Helsinki.

4. Olympic Stadium Tower

The 72-meter-high Olympic Stadium Tower is the highest point in central Helsinki. It was built for the Summer Olympics in 1952.

5. Rooftop of Verkkokauppa.com Store

From the rooftop of the Verkkokauppa.com store, you can enjoy various views from different angles. The photo above was taken facing the sea, and from here you can also see the Helsinki city center or the scenic new residential area under development at Jätkäsaari.

6. Kaivopuisto Viewing Platform

Its highest point is 30 meters high, and the Kaivopuisto Viewing Platform is located next to an observatory built in 1934. It provides excellent views of Kaivopuisto Park and the ocean.
