China Airlines B777-300ER fleet to be delivered in September; new Premium Economy class unveiled

China Airlines' new aircraft and cabin class have been unveiled！ The airline’s B777-300ER fleet is scheduled to be delivered starting in September this year. To offer passengers more cabin options, China Airlines has introduced a brand-new Premium Economy class. Featuring fixed backrests to create an undisturbed space and a 12-inch large screen, the class includes a total of 62 seats. With fixed backrests and increased legroom, passengers can enjoy the experience for about 30% more than the standard Economy fare.

The Premium Economy class also thoughtfully includes multiple storage spaces, such as a compartment inside the central armrest for personal tablets; each seat features an independent reading light and storage area for personal belongings. With more spacious and comfortable seating, exclusive amenity kits, tableware, enhanced meal services, and up to two pieces of checked baggage weighing 28 kg each for free, passengers can also benefit from mileage redemption upgrade offers on China Airlines’ website—giving business travelers or those seeking more space more cost-effective options.

In addition, China Airlines has introduced functional tray tables with an enlarged size to provide more space for dining or working. The tables are specially designed with grooves to hold tablets, which can be adjusted to different angles as needed. When the tray table is stowed, a small fold-out table and cup holder on the seatback conveniently hold a charging phone or beverage. Each seat is also equipped with its own USB port and power outlet, ensuring passengers have uninterrupted, dedicated power supply.

China Airlines’ Premium Economy class also features the largest personal screen of its kind globally—a 12-inch full-touchscreen display paired with Panasonic’s latest eX3 in-flight entertainment system. Passengers can simply swipe the screen with their fingertips or use the sleek smart button remote control on the armrest to access a wide selection of movies, music, and games curated by China Airlines. The high-resolution display and smooth touchscreen operation add more enjoyment to the journey. The seat design incorporates a tech-inspired matte black color and patterns inspired by Song Dynasty aesthetics, evoking the refined atmosphere of a mountain retreat for literati.
