JAL Tanabata Prayer Event – Blessed by Sendai Hachiman Shrine, Japan’s Most Auspicious Shrine

To allow travelers to experience Japan’s “Tanabata Matsuri” (Star Festival) culture, Japan Airlines held a “Tanabata Prayer Wish” event in Taiwan on July 4. Wishing bamboo poles were set up at the check-in counters and boarding gates for Flight JL096 (departing 08:45) from Songshan to Haneda, as well as at the boarding gate for Flight JL816 (departing 12:05) from Taoyuan to Narita. Kimono ladies dressed in traditional Japanese attire assisted passengers in writing their wish slips. All the wishing slips written that day were sent to Sendai Osaki Hachiman Shrine in Japan for dedication. It is said that Sendai Hachiman Shrine is one of the most historic, oldest, and most efficacious shrines in Japan.
