The vibrant summer is about to arrive. Have you figured out where to go during the break? Spanning 30 hectares, the Taichung Da’an Coastal Park offers stunning coastal views, and at low tide, expansive sandy shores stretch for hundreds of meters, creating a particularly romantic atmosphere for a walk. This year’s Da’an Sand Sculpture Music Festival will be held with great fanfare starting July 1, showcasing up to 32 international sand sculptures.
To make the summer seaside even more lively, the Taichung City Government has specially organized the “Rolling Screw Harbor Hot Music Competition,” inviting bands from all walks of life to rock the summer on stage, with the first prize winner taking home a cash award of up to NT$120,000. On the opening night, bands 831, TRASH, and singers Juli Chou and Tian Yahuo will also perform enthusiastically. Throughout the Sand Sculpture Music Festival, there will also be beach volleyball competitions, sand sculpture photography contests, and other activities both big and small.

In addition, the highlight of the entire beach is the 32 sand sculptures on display. The sand sculpture of the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition mascot, the Formosan clouded leopard, has also become a seaside attraction. During the summer vacation, parents can also bring their children here to play in the water and build sandcastles.
