ANA invites the public to Songshan Airport on July 6 to make romantic Tanabata wishes together

The most common way to celebrate Tanabata in Japan is to write one’s wishes on a small card and decorate them by hanging them on thin bamboo branches—a uniquely Japanese tradition passed down since the Edo period. The Japanese airline ANA’s Taipei branch has been hosting a Tanabata wish event at Taoyuan Airport since 2010. With the launch of flights at Songshan Airport, this year’s “Tanabata Wish” event will take place from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on July 6 at Counter 4 of ANA at Songshan Airport.

ANA stated that the area near the counter will be decorated with a wish zone and a Tanabata bamboo ({9SASA) decoration. On-site, ANA ground staff will also wear traditional Japanese yukata. Visitors to the event will also have the chance to receive ANA Boeing 787 Dreamliner stickers and ANA Pokémon Pikachu fans. On the day of the event, participants can write their wishes on the cards and tie them onto the thin bamboo branches. ANA will then collect them and send them to Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, where they will be displayed together with other wishes.
