With the official launch of electrification on the Eastern Line and the introduction of Puyuma trains, Taiwan Railways has decided to significantly adjust its timetable starting July 16. In addition to using the newly launched app “TRA e-Reservation,” which allows passengers to check the schedule, starting July 9, TRA will print 500,000 copies of the new timetable and 100,000 fold-out leaflet versions, all available for free at train stations.
Taiwan Railways stated that after the timetable changes take effect on the 16th, the frequency of trains in the Eastern Region will be increased. For Tze-Chiang Limited Express trains, the interval between services will be reduced from 120 minutes on weekdays to 84 minutes, and from 120 minutes to 65 minutes on holidays. The Puyuma trains will operate four round trips between Taipei and Taitung on weekdays, and six on holidays.
