Preventing Terrorist Attacks: Passengers Flying to the U.S. Must Have Phones That Can Power On

European countries and the United States have significantly enhanced airport security checks for passengers traveling from Europe and the Middle East to the U.S. in order to prevent terrorist attacks.

According to the latest statement released by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (US TSA), during the airport security screening process, passengers will be prohibited from bringing smartphones or other electronic devices that are not powered on board. Therefore, passengers must ensure their devices can be turned on before carrying them onto the plane; otherwise, they will undergo additional screening.

According to foreign media reports, there are concerns that militants associated with terrorist organizations may have developed new explosive devices capable of evading detection and being brought onto planes. As a result, security checks will focus on electronic devices such as laptops and smartphones. It is believed that countries including the UK and France will strengthen security screenings for electronic devices and shoes, and increase random inspections.
