“Announcing the World’s Return to Normalcy” – Bangkok, Thailand Hosts a Joyful Parade Celebration

Thailand’s political unrest over the past six months has led to a slump in the tourism market. With the lifting of the curfew, locals are eager to declare to the world that “Thai tourism has returned to normal.” On July 25 and 26, a parade, shopping, fashion show, concert, and food feast will be held on the shopping streets in central Bangkok under the name “Thai Happiness” celebration. Mr. Thawatchai Arunyik, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said: “This event is an unprecedented grand party marking the return to normalcy for Thai tourism.”

The Tourism Authority of Thailand also stated that during the two-day festival, there will be a Happiness Concert, a light and sound performance, a Happiness Gift Market, and celebrity-themed merchandise stalls selling items from Thai stars. Additionally, the Happiness Surprise Zone allows visitors to take photos and upload them to Instagram. Once 5,000 smiling photos are collected, surprise gifts will be given out. In the evening, there will be parades featuring food, fashion, flowers, and folk songs, while live music performances at the main stage will continue until midnight. Meanwhile, the “Charming Thailand Surprise Sale” is also underway, offering discounts at numerous department stores, shopping malls, restaurants, spas, and other retail outlets across the country.
