The annual “Kaohsiung Beer Festival” kicked off enthusiastically today (18th) in front of Dream Mall, where cool beer pairs perfectly with Kaohsiung’s signature refreshing food pairings, offering an incredibly delightful experience in the summer heat. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu raised a glass to invite the public to come to Kaohsiung, drink heartily, and enjoy the feast, while reminding everyone to “not drink and drive” and urging them to use public transportation to get to and from the venue.

Chen Chu stated that this year ten carefully selected local Kaohsiung side dish vendors have been invited to set up shop in the festival’s food court, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the most refreshing and enjoyable beer party of the summer. The nights in Kaohsiung are buzzing with energy. As one of the major summer festivals in southern Taiwan, the Kaohsiung Beer Festival has successfully established the reputation of Kaohsiung as the city of beer. This year marks the 6th edition of the event, which will be held for three consecutive days from today until the 20th on Era Boulevard. Ten breweries and the winning side dish vendors will all be gathered here, attracting many visitors to enjoy a tipsy good time.

The event is divided into three major themes. The first day’s theme is “Newbies & Spicy Girls Mobilization – Otaku & Spicy Girl Party,” featuring fiery opening performances by Guo Shu-yao, Zhu Li-jing, Popu Lady, and Guan Qing. The next day, “Goddess Rock ‘n’ Roll – The Divas Descend” will see Jolin Tsai, Chen Shi-an, and the Echo band take the stage in succession. The finale will feature Huang Xiao-hu, Show Lo, and Quartet, closing the night under the theme “Heroes of the Booze Rise – The Golden Melody Night.”

This year, an outdoor family-friendly play zone has also been created at the venue, expanding the fun game areas and activities, making it suitable for families to attend together. The organizers also remind attendees that “minors should not drink alcohol” and to “not drink and drive,” encouraging the use of public transport to commute to and from the event. Taxi waiting zones are also available around the venue as part of the transportation services provided.
