Typhoon Alert / Quick Guide to Transportation and Airline Disruptions (Updated Continuously)

Due to the approaching Typhoon Matmo to Taiwan, various airlines and shipping companies have successively issued flight change notices. ETtoday ETToday East Asia Travel Cloud has compiled a “Transportation Disruption Quick Guide” for our users, which will be updated continuously. The currently announced changes are as follows:

[Land Transportation]
High-Speed Rail:Taiwan High-Speed Rail has adjusted its train schedule for the 23rd. Before 12:00 noon (inclusive), Taipei Station (southbound) and Zuoying Station (northbound) will each operate two all-stations free-seating trains per hour (excluding business class carriages), with departure times at the top and half-hour marks. The operational status after 12:00 noon will be announced at 10:00 AM on the 23rd.

Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA):i) South-Link Line (between Kaohsiung and Taitung):
1. Trains from Taitung to Kaohsiung: Starting with TRA No. 332 (departing Taitung at 20:35), all services are suspended. [The TRA No. 332 from Hualien to Kaohsiung will only operate as far as Taitung.]
2. Trains from Kaohsiung to Taitung: Starting with TRA No. 373 (departing Kaohsiung at 19:40), all services are suspended. [The TRA No. 373 from Taichung to Taitung will only operate as far as Kaohsiung.]

ii) Yilan and North-Link Lines:
1. Trains from Taipei to Hualien: Starting with TRA No. 552 (departing Taipei at 19:16), all services are suspended. [The TRA No. 552 from Kaohsiung to Hualien (a local express) will only operate as far as Qidu.] [The TRA No. 246 from Taipei to Hualien (a high-speed train, departing Taipei at 18:40) will only operate as far as Yilan.]
2. Trains from Hualien to Taipei: Starting with TRA No. 247 (departing Hualien at 20:30), all services are suspended.

iii) Taitung Line:
1. Trains from Hualien to Taitung: Starting with TRA No. 604 (departing Hualien at 18:28), all services are suspended.
2. Trains from Taitung to Hualien: Starting with TRA No. 447 (departing Taitung at 20:25), all services are suspended.

iv) Pingxi Line: All services suspended from 20:00.

v) Neiwan Line, Liujia Line, Jiji Line, Shalun Line, and local trains will operate flexibly depending on weather conditions.

[Maritime Transportation]
Ferries to Green Island and Orchid Island:Suspended on the 22nd and 23rd

Lina Ferry:Taipei – Pingtan: Suspended on the 22nd and 23rd

TaiMa Ferry:Keelung – Matsu: Suspended on the 22nd, status for the 23rd not yet announced

Taiwan High Speed Ferry:Kaohsiung–Makung service suspended from the 22nd to the 25th

Sea Star Ferry:Taichung–Pingtan service suspended from the 22nd to the 24th

[Airlines]
China Airlines:The CI124/125 round-trip flight between Taoyuan and Ishigaki on the 23rd has been postponed by one day.

Uni Air:On the 22nd, flights B7-351 (Songshan–Hengchun) and B7-352 (Hengchun–Songshan) are canceled; B7-857 (Songshan–Taitung) departs earlier at 15:00, and B7-858 (Taitung–Songshan) departs earlier at 16:30. All other flights operate as scheduled. On the 23rd, all flights on the Matsu routes are canceled, all domestic flights before 2:00 PM are canceled, and flights after 2:00 PM will be adjusted based on weather conditions.

TransAsia Airways:Before 4:00 PM on the 22nd, all flights operated normally and were not affected by Typhoon Matmo.

Daily Air:On the 22nd, all flights to Green Island (6 round trips) and Orchid Island (14 flights) are canceled.

Singapore Airlines:Flights to and from Taipei are currently operating normally, but may be adjusted due to potential weather-related air traffic disruptions.

AirAsia: The Taipei–Kuala Lumpur flight on the 22nd and the Taipei–Sabah flight on the 23rd have delayed departures; the D7377 flight from Taipei Taoyuan to Kuala Lumpur, originally at 23:45 on the 22nd, is delayed to 13:40 on the 23rd from Taipei Taoyuan; the AK208 flight from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah to Taipei Taoyuan, originally at 06:10 on the 23rd, is delayed to 22:00 on July 23rd from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The AK209 flight from Taipei Taoyuan to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, originally at 09:55 on the 23rd, is delayed to 01:55 on the 24th from Taipei Taoyuan.

Far Eastern Air Transport:All Far Eastern Air Transport flights on the 22nd operated normally.
The following domestic flights are “canceled” on the 23rd:

Spring Airlines Taiwan: The Taipei–Shijiazhuang flight on July 23 has been canceled due to a typhoon. From July 25 to September 29, the Taipei–Shijiazhuang route will only operate on Wednesdays.

TransAsia Airways: For domestic flights on July 23, all Taipei–Hualien flights have been canceled for the entire day. Other domestic flights before 1:00 PM are canceled, and flights after 1:00 PM will operate depending on weather conditions. For international flights on July 23, the Taoyuan–Tokyo GE606/605 flight has been canceled, the Jeju–Taoyuan GE865 flight has been delayed by 2 hours, and the Ryukyu–Taoyuan GE3681 flight has been delayed by 3 hours. All other cross-strait/international flights are operating as usual.

Dragonair:The Taichung–Hong Kong flight KA495 on July 23 has been canceled.

Cathay Pacific:On July 23, the Taipei–Hong Kong flights CX463 and CX465 will be canceled. Additionally, flights CX407, CX403, and CX469 will be delayed until after noon. (Tentatively at 12:00, 13:00, and 14:00 respectively)

Air China:All flights on July 23 have been completely canceled.
