Tainan’s Zuozhen “Pipe Hotel” Opens on August 3rd – NT$600 per Night

Tainan’s camping pipe hotel has been completed and will officially open on August 3rd. The former “Zuozhen Elementary School Ganglin Branch,” which was shut down in 2006, has been transformed into the “Zuozhen Moon World Eco-Park.” It now serves as a venue for ecological workshops and scout training, and features five “camping pipes” made from large 2-meter-diameter concrete tubes for visitors to use.

The Zuozhen Elementary School Ganglin Branch in Zuozhen District, Tainan City, was closed on July 1, 2006. In January 2010, the Tainan City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau repurposed part of the space to establish the “Zuozhen Moon World Tourist Service Center,” and planned the “Zuozhen Moon World Eco-Park” to provide the public with a more comprehensive eco-experience base. Among the highly anticipated features for campers are the “camping pipes,” a new type of camping experience space newly developed with reference to domestic and international examples.

The five camping pipes set up in the Zuozhen Moon World Eco-Park not only offer shelter from wind and rain but also include lighting, electricity, and air conditioning inside the tubes, making camping more convenient and diverse. The goal is to encourage more people to step outdoors, connect with nature, and enjoy Tainan’s unique eco-tourism experiences. The camping pipes are scheduled to officially open on August 3rd, with five units available for public experience each day. Pricing is NT$600 on weekdays and NT$800 on holidays.
