And there’s even a lane named after love—“Lover’s Lane”—with its colorful walls and European-style cobblestone path, making it a hotspot for couple photoshoots, filled with nothing but pink bubbles!

Located next to the Ruins of St. Paul’s, Lover’s Lane is hard to miss with its distinctly European charm. The lane stretches about 50 meters, with a cobblestone path made of crushed stones and buildings on both sides mainly painted in pink and yellow. With a history of around 80 years, Lover’s Lane was originally just an ordinary alley until 2003, when the Macau government redesigned it as a pedestrian-only zone, preserving its unique architectural style, which eventually turned it into a popular local attraction.

Thanks to its unique exotic vibe and love-filled colors, this lane has also become a popular spot for newlyweds to shoot their wedding photos. Even TV dramas and commercials have been filmed here. On regular days, Lover’s Lane is mostly filled with tourists taking pictures. Aside from the girlish pink walls loved by many, couples can’t help but take out their phones and cameras to snap sweet photos non-stop.

Besides Lover’s Lane, nearby Guanqian Street and Junxiu Wai, also not far from the Ruins of St. Paul’s, are well worth a visit. This area is an emerging cultural and creative district in Macau, home to many artistic and boutique shops. The graffiti and murals on the alley walls showcase a trendy artistic vibe. These youthful, modern-style stores contrast sharply with the adjacent old, unrenovated buildings and retro signs, creating a strong clash of old and new cultures that forms a uniquely layered streetscape.
