Stay in an 80-year-old wooden house！ A luxury brand “Andante安棠德” created by The Ambassador Hotel

The Ambassador Hotel has renovated the over 80-year-old Japanese-style wooden house area within the Hualien Cultural and Creative Park, preserving the main building structure while adding garden landscaping, transforming it into 13 independent wooden houses. After completion in July, it debuted along with the restaurant under the brand “Andante安棠德”.

The Hualien Cultural and Creative Park was formerly the Hualien Distillery, built in 1913, and has a history of 100 years. The Andante安棠德 wooden house area covers 1,600 pyeong and was originally the dormitory for senior executives of the distillery, built between 1928 and 1937. The building where the Andante安棠德 Restaurant is located was completed in 1927. It was formerly the office of the Red Liqueur Distillery and also the first building in the cultural and creative park to be designated as a historical site by the Cultural Heritage Preservation Bureau. The designer preserved the original cement ceiling, terrazzo flooring, walls, and wooden lattice windows, skillfully incorporating red brick decorations, vintage tin ceilings, and retro industrial furniture to enhance functionality, allowing the century-old building to retain a nostalgic atmosphere while being reborn in a stylish industrial design.

In collaboration with a-zone Hualien Cultural and Creative Park, The Ambassador Hotel has launched an “Artistic and Cultural Experience Tour” as part of its in-depth travel program. Combining cultural art, restaurant dining, DIY cultural workshops, bicycle tours, and Japanese-style wooden houses, it offers a two-day-one-night mini trip. The tour is available for groups of two or more, with a special promotional price starting from NT$4,125 per person from now until September 30.
