The "Thomas the Tank Engine" makes its way to Japan, carrying travelers as it speeds through the fields.

The beloved British animated series *Thomas & Friends*, which has captivated audiences in the UK, is now making its debut in Japan to let even more people experience its adorable charm firsthand. The Oigawa Railway, a sister railway to the Alishan Forest Railway, has launched a limited-time "Thomas Steam Train" starting now, taking visitors on a journey through forests and fields to enjoy the unique natural scenery of Shizuoka.

"Choo choo!" With the urgent sound of its whistle and a bright, smiling face, the Thomas locomotive continuously puffs out white steam as a reminder for passengers to get on board so it can take them to their destination... The Oigawa Railway Company in Shizuoka Prefecture introduced the "Thomas"-themed steam train for the first time on the 12th of last month to attract more visitors, and as soon as it debuted, it quickly drew countless train enthusiasts eager to ride.

According to Oigawa Railway, the Thomas the Tank Engine mainly runs between Shin-Kanaya and Senchu Stations. In addition to the experience of riding on Thomas, there's another surprise waiting for visitors at Senchu Station. The railway has set up a Thomas Square and play area at the station, featuring a miniature version of the Thomas locomotive, an inflatable play facility — the Thomas Garage — and his good friend "Hero," who will be there to chat and interact with visitors.

However, riding the Thomas the Tank Engine isn’t available every day. In addition to requiring advance ticket reservations, according to the schedule provided by Oigawa Railway, Thomas runs regularly every weekend, with occasional weekday round-trip services offering one trip each way. On-site, Thomas-themed bento boxes will also be sold. Come experience a unique steam train journey in Japan before October 12th.
