The administration stated that this event has specially invited “Ultra-marathon Mom” Qiu Shurong to serve as the ambassador of the event. The four-day “2014 Penghu International Ocean & Beach Sports Carnival” will feature beach running competitions on September 13 and 14 at Aimen and Lindong Beaches, including an ocean and beach walking activity for local tourism operators and residents, a 6-kilometer beach run, and a long-distance 12-kilometer beach run.
On September 20 and 21, a lifeguard sports championship will be held at Liuli Beach, featuring water rescue competitions with specifications matching those in Australia. In the past, domestic lifeguard sports competitions were mostly held in swimming pools, but this time the events have been moved to Liuli Beach. This not only increases the difficulty of the competition but also enhances the entertainment value for spectators. In addition to events such as rescue board racing, torpedo buoy racing, beach flag capture, and ocean triathlon, the event will also include beachside safety lessons on CPR, life-saving equipment use, and cramp self-rescue.
On September 13 and September 20, carnival performer evenings will be held, featuring explosive rock performances by the band led by Lin Zongxing, along with singers Luo Meiling, Tao Zhe, and Huang Huiqun delivering an electrifying concert. Registration for the “2014 Penghu International Ocean & Beach Sports Carnival” competitions is done online, with the registration period from August 6 to August 31.
