World’s First Puss in Boots Suspended Coaster to Open at Universal Studios Singapore This Year

The globally beloved Puss in Boots is set to make his debut at Universal Studios Singapore. Located in the Far Far Away themed area, the world’s first Puss in Boots Adventure suspended coaster will take riders defying gravity on an exhilarating aerial adventure.

Inside an enchanted castle overgrown with magic bean vines, guests will board the themed suspended coaster and join Puss in Boots and his feline partner Kitty Softpaws as they evade the pursuit of an evil goose and search for magical golden eggs. Named Puss in Boots Adventure, this outdoor suspended coaster lets every rider relive scenes from the Puss in Boots movie while enjoying a thrilling sky-high ride. The attraction is expected to open by the end of 2014.

Mr. John Holloway, Senior Vice President of Resorts World Sentosa Attractions, said that this new attraction takes inspiration from and goes beyond other popular suspended coasters, appealing not only to families but also to thrill-seekers. Visitors eager to meet the two feline heroes can also catch their sizzling dance debut this September in the all-new 20-minute stage show, The Dance for the Magic Beans. Guests can also take photos with Puss in Boots and Kitty.

The Puss in Boots Adventure suspended coaster is jointly developed by Resorts World Sentosa, DreamWorks Animation, and Universal Parks & Resorts. Originally just a cartoon character in the Shrek film series, Puss in Boots gained immense popularity and starred in his own blockbuster movie in 2011, which grossed over $554 million worldwide and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature at the 84th Oscars.

Universal Studios Singapore features over 20 rides, shows, and attractions. With the addition of the Puss in Boots Adventure, the number of attractions themed around DreamWorks Animation films rises to seven. These are located across the Madagascar and Far Far Away themed areas, which also include more than 10 themed restaurants and retail shops.
