The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and Google today (August 13) announced the joint launch of the “Taiwan Travel Unfiltered – Global Online Video Contest,” calling on travel enthusiasts from around the world to share their Taiwan travel stories through video, promoting them globally via the YouTube platform. In addition to attracting more international visitors to experience the charm of traveling in Taiwan, the winning video creators will also receive an all-expenses-paid round-the-world flight ticket.
The main goal of this event is to invite international travelers to create creative videos about what they see and experience in Taiwan, or share must-do and must-eat travel guides in Taiwan, and upload them to the YouTube platform to attract more global netizens to discover Taiwan.

At the event press conference, the first to appear was the “San Taizi,” who has promoted Taiwan in countries around the world, conveying the idea of using online videos to let the world see Taiwan. In addition, the event also shared experiences from many travel enthusiasts who explored Taiwan by running, skateboarding, or simply using their own two feet.

General Manager of Google TaiwanChen Chun-tingsaid that in recent years, Google has successfully promoted Angkor Wat and many other tourist attractions around the world through Street View maps. “User-generated content” is also a widely popular theme online. Therefore, this collaboration with the Tourism Bureau aims to promote Taiwan through more user-created content.
The “Taiwan Travel Unlimited – Global Online Video Submission Contest” is now open for a year-long online submission period. Participants are required to visit Taiwan and shoot fun videos to upload and share on YouTube. In addition to festive events, content can also freely explore themes such as local culture, food, shopping, and natural ecology. Winning videos may receive round-the-world flight tickets. Additionally, for every vote an international entry receives, the Tourism Bureau will contribute one dollar to the flight fund, encouraging more international participants to join the event in Taiwan.
