The place Chinese tourists feel "most welcomed"... Taiwan ranks 8th in the world

Global online hotel service provider Hotel.com recently released the "Chinese International Travel Monitor." Based on the online booking behavior of Chinese travelers in 2013, it rankedthe top ten most popular travel destinations, with Taiwan coming in 9th, marking its first time in the top ten. Additionally, in terms of where Chinese travelers feel "most welcomed," Taiwan ranked 8th.

According to the "Chinese International Travel Monitor," the top ten most popular overseas travel destinations for Chinese tourists last year were led by the United States, with Hong Kong and Thailand ranking second and third respectively, followed by Japan, France, the UK, Italy, South Korea, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

In statistics from January to May 2014, Taipei climbed tosecond place in Hotels.com China’s search volume,just behind Hong Kong. The top five were Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Singapore, and Bangkok.

Aside from the most popular destinations among Chinese travelers,the "countries/regions most welcoming to Chinese tourists"saw Australia and Singapore take the top two spots, with France, New Zealand, and South Korea tied for third. Taiwan received 8th place in this poll, tied with Canada.

According to data from Hotels.com, in recent years the proportion of independent travel by Chinese tourists to Taiwan has gradually increased, while the percentage of Chinese travelers using the internet or mobile apps to book hotels rose from 6% to 17%, reflecting the impact of technology on the travel behavior of Chinese tourists.
