As a sunny guy, I used to drive to Neihu with my older brother almost every day to play baseball. At that time, the batting center was open until midnight. Unfortunately, my brother started studying abroad in Canada, and from then on, I drove to play baseball alone every day. On the way back home from the batting center, I would always pass through the Ziqiang Tunnel.
One night around 11 PM, as usual, I was driving through the Ziqiang Tunnel when I saw police officers up ahead conducting a checkpoint. All the vehicles had obediently stopped for the officers to check their licenses and vehicle registrations, and I was no exception. I rolled down my window and passed my license and registration to the two officers through the passenger seat. After they finished checking, just as I was about to roll the window back up, the officer standing behind me suddenly said something that sent chills down my spine. He said, “Strange… why is your girlfriend sitting in the back seat?”
I told the officer that I was driving alone. The officer was also shocked, and before I could even pull over, I panicked and got out of the car. Other vehicles had to go around us. The officer quickly called for a third officer (who seemed to be able to see supernatural beings), and this backup officer started murmuring next to my car, as if communicating with the “her” inside. Then, he suddenly opened the back door, closed it again shortly after, and came over to me saying, “Alright, you can drive safely now.”
Reluctantly, I had to drive home with a heavy heart. This is an experience I’ll never forget for the rest of my life. Who was actually sitting in my back seat that day?
