Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
A fusion of traditional omelet and Kyoto matcha creates a whole new flavor experience. “Quick & Slow Miss,” located in Kaohsiung’s Sanduo Shopping District, officially opened in October. Both the wrapper and fillings can be customized, with daily limited-time, limited-quantity flavors that vary. Centered around “matcha,” it’s sparked a matcha omelet craze.

Hiding in Kaohsiung’s Sanduo Shopping District, “Quick & Slow Miss” is jointly run by young women who love matcha. The ordering process is fully customizable—you pick the omelet wrapper first, then choose the filling. Since opening in October, they’ve offered natural ingredients like dragon fruit, pumpkin, almonds, and tomatoes to create up to 17 unique wrapper types and 14 special filling varieties.

For wrappers, there are two fixed options: matcha and whole wheat. Fixed fillings include original, pickled pork with sauerkraut, corn and cheese, Pusan Korean kimchi, and Fuyuan peanut butter. The shop owner posts two hidden wrapper and two hidden filling options on their social media page the day before—tea-infused and purple sweet potato wrappers, along with mashed potato cheese and thick omelet fillings, often appear on the hidden menu.

The shop uses traditional methods to make batter omelets, adding Oiwaen matcha powder. Those who’ve tried it say the wrapper is slightly thick and chewy, with the tea aroma becoming more pronounced the more you chew. You can taste the slight bitterness and sweetness of the matcha—it’s refreshing and not greasy. Many customers opt to add Fuyuan peanut butter, and the seemingly odd pairing surprisingly works well.
A row of colorful omelets is enough to make anyone’s mouth water. Made fresh to order daily, even the 40-minute wait doesn’t seem to dampen the enthusiasm of those lining up to try it.
