Singapore Airlines has announced that starting October 27, 2014, it will offer flights between Singapore and Auckland, New Zealand, using the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380.
The A380, which can carry 471 passengers, will depart Singapore at 8:50 p.m. daily and arrive in Auckland at 11:45 a.m. the following day. The return flight SQ286 will depart Auckland at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Singapore at 7:00 p.m. Currently, this route is served by the Boeing 777-300ER, which accommodates 278 passengers.
Singapore Airlines currently operates 12 weekly flights between Singapore and Auckland, including five other flights operated by the 777-200ER.
