Nearly 40 creative shops connected, a 40-year-old community revitalized—go on an artistic treasure hunt in the neighborhood alleys
The Caotun Boulevard neighborhood has a long history and has recently attracted a group of residents and shops that love humanities and the arts. The old community imagery and new humanistic creativity have collided to create a uniquely local landscape. The foundation called on both new and old shops and neighborhood residents to participate together in lighting up the area with art！The LAB resident art team Xiao Lu Ying Hua, together with residents of Zhongming Li’s 13th neighborhood, started with community cleaning and resident meetings, step by step, carrying out small and large-scale paintings in five locations along the streets and alleys.

It also connects nearly 40 creative shops within the neighborhood such as Fantasia, hecho coffee, LITTLE SECRET, Life Start, and other partners, who spontaneously held exhibitions, installations, and other art activities during the arts festival, collectively igniting creative energy. Through creative methods such as the “Bird’s Eye View of the City” birdhouse installations, limited-edition check-in glasses, and map stamp-collecting activities, the public is encouraged to explore the neighborhood and experience the cultural characteristics of the Caotun Boulevard area！

First in Taiwan！Artist Residency Program and Affordable Art Shop Turn Mall into Art Museum
The “Qinmei Cultural and Creative Cluster LAB” is the first mall in Taiwan to host artist residencies, turning the commercial space into an art museum. The annual selected artists come from diverse fields such as painting, fashion, installation, and video, transforming the mall into an art space. Lai Guanzhong’s “Moon Bear” features a three-meter-tall soft sculpture of a Formosan black bear, advocating for animal conservation; Xie Yiru’s “Kirin Deer of Kagoshima” uses a giraffe that pierces through the ceiling to express parent-child interaction.

Li Huimin uses the eye as a creative element, expressing the energy and nourishment gained through observation with "Gaze"; Yan Ningzhi (Andi Sheep) creates the Laboratory of the Pastoral God with his signature graffiti style. In addition, guest artists from both home and abroad, including Li Mingdao (Akibo), Cat King Not Liked, and Filipino artist Michael Vincent Manalo, were invited to create site-specific works, challenging the various possibilities of bringing art into shopping malls.
