Mainland's self-operated Chinese Taishan cruise ship makes maiden voyage, carrying 900 passengers to South Korea

The first fully mainland-owned and independently operated international luxury cruise shipChinese Taishanofficially commenced service on the 16th, departing from Yantai Port with over 900 passengers on board, embarking on a journey to Seoul and Jeju Island in South Korea. This marks the beginning of Shandong Province’s marine tourism truly expanding from coastal areas to the open sea.

The Chinese Taishan cruise ship has over 300 service and performance staff from various countries and regions including China, Russia, Thailand, and Hong Kong; more than 50 deck and engine room crew are all professional technicians from China, with operations managed by Bohai Cruise Management Company.

According to mainland media reports, the first two voyages are already fully booked, and the third voyage is a chartered trip. From August to October 27, the cruise will mainly operate between Yantai and Seoul and Jeju Island in South Korea, with short-haul itineraries as the focus.After November, the cruise will shift to the southern route, sailing between Shanghai and Taiwan.
