Once the ancient capital of Japan, Nara boasts a historical depth that rivals Kyoto. If you want to easily visit World Heritage Sites such as Todai-ji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, Nara Park, and Suzaku Gate in one go, hop on the newly launched "Nara Sightseeing Bus." You can tour around these historic sites for just 100 yen (about NT$30)!

The Nara Sightseeing Bus is divided into the "Nara Park Line" and the "Heijō-kyō Palace Site / Naramachi Line." The Nara Park Line departs from the west exit of JR Nara Station, passing major spots such as Todai-ji Temple, the National Museum, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and the base of Mount Wakakusa. Buses run every 15 minutes from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Heijō-kyō Palace Site Line covers sites such as Hōkō-ji Temple, the Daiichi-dō Hall (Tai Chi Hall), and Suzaku Gate, operating every 20 minutes from 9:00 AM to 5:20 PM.

Normally, the sightseeing bus only runs on weekends and national holidays, but it operates daily during specific periods. Currently, service is available daily only until August 31 for the summer vacation period. Daily service will also be offered from October 11, when the autumn tourism season begins, through November 16.
