The Macau International Fireworks Competition Kicks Off During the Mid-Autumn Festival – The Taiwanese Team Will Open the Show

Pleasant September weather is just around the corner—plan a light getaway. The Macau International Fireworks Display Contest is about to begin. This year (2014) marks the 26th edition of the event in Macau, where ten fireworks teams from around the world will gather to present dazzling displays choreographed to stirring music, creating magical spectacles in the night sky.

The annual Macau International Fireworks Display Contest attracts tens of thousands of spectators who come to experience the breathtaking sight of fireworks bursting in the night sky. This year’s competition will open on September 8, Mid-Autumn Festival, with a performance by the Taiwanese team, setting the Macau night ablaze with vibrant fireworks that compete with the stars and moon. The display will take place over the waters off the Macau Tower. In addition to the Tower Square, other great viewing spots include the shores of Sai Van Lake, Nam Van Lake, the garden at Monte da Penha, and the Hac Sa Beach area.

For those preferring an indoor experience, the 360° revolving restaurant at Macau Tower, Mandarin Oriental Macau, and Grand Hyatt Macau are excellent choices. Many hotels and restaurants also offer themed culinary or accommodation deals celebrating the festival, allowing guests to enjoy the spectacular fireworks lighting up Macau’s night sky while savoring fine local cuisine.

The 26th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest will be held on the evenings of September 8, September 13, September 20, September 27, and October 1, with shows at 9:00 PM and 9:40 PM. The ten participating teams (in competition order) are from Taiwan, Croatia, China, France, South Korea, Poland, Portugal, Australia, Italy, and Spain.
