Tainan Mashagou Music Festival  Postponed to September 6th for Rescheduled Event

The "2014 Tainan Mashagou Music Festival," organized by the Tainan City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau, was originally scheduled for August 9th but was postponed due to the Kaohsiung gas explosion incident. Today (22nd), it was announced that the event will now take place on September 6th from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the original venue. The public is invited to join in the celebration.

With this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival spanning three consecutive days of holiday, the organizers invite the public to visit the beautiful and light-pollution-free Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area to enjoy the moon and music together. The Tourism and Travel Bureau stated that the Tainan Mashagou Music Festival is now in its third year and has attracted tens of thousands of enthusiastic visitors in each of the past two editions, establishing itself as a major music event in southern Taiwan. This year, a new "Mashagou Music Awards" band competition has been added, with the top three winning bands performing as opening acts on September 6th.

On September 6th, the program will kick off with performances by the top three winning bands of this year’s Mashagou Music Awards: “Champion” The Arc Arc Band, “Runner-up” Our Service is Ready OSR Band, and “Third Place” Feichangkou Band. They will perform multiple original songs unique to Tainan, giving audiences a taste of the charm of indie music and the strength of this year’s competing bands. Starting at 6:00 PM, renowned artists including "Born Diva" A-Lin, the "Prince of Love Songs" Pin Guan, and the "Starlight Legend" Chao Chih-Pi will each put on one-hour live band mini-concerts, aiming to warm the hearts of all attendees with their touching and soothing voices.

To foster a family reunion atmosphere for the Mid-Autumn Festival, the organizers have specially arranged a "Mid-Autumn Night Reunion" activity. Visitors dressed in matching outfits such as couple outfits, parent-child outfits, or friendship shoes can receive a special gift (limited quantity, while supplies last). In addition, to support low-carbon and environmentally friendly practices, barbecuing will not be allowed in the park on the day, but there will be a food market featuring nearly 40 stalls offering authentic local Tainan delicacies, popular traditional snacks loved by tourists, and nostalgic regional treats—allowing participants to sample the best flavors of Tainan in one go.
