Due to preparation needs, the shop is only open in the evenings, from 6 PM to 10 PM on weekdays and starting slightly earlier at 5 PM on holidays. This "scarcity makes it precious" approach has made it popular among both locals and tourists.

Made with American beef, the meat here is grilled a bit more charred. "I’m personally allergic to chemical additives, so I want our customers to enjoy the natural flavor of the ingredients. Our cuts have more tendons, giving them a chewier texture." When asked about the low prices, the owner laughed and said it’s all about giving customers more bang for their buck.

The owner says he loves traveling in Japan and once saw vendors selling mentaiko products at a market in Tokyo. "It’s not something that fills you up, but it’s the kind of dish you’ll keep thinking about and craving." The shop also has a stall at Fengjia Night Market, but the main branch focuses on more basic flavors.

A common dish in many Japanese restaurants, the version here offers more layers of texture compared to those in Japan. Many local shops in Taiwan lack aroma, and mentaiko udon often feels greasy. By using Japanese seven-spice chili pepper and spices, the dish achieves a refreshing balance.

The owner previously specialized in yakitori and kept only the best-selling items. Since many in Taiwan don’t like peeling shrimp, the shop preps them by shelling and wrapping them in beef belly slices before grilling. This method allows the shrimp roe to mix with the beef juice while preventing both from being lost, resulting in a richer taste.

The topping changes with the seasons; in summer, it mainly features snow crab claws. The shop also thoughtfully removes the harder parts. The combination of mentaiko, egg, and cheese is very rich, and the portion of snow crab is generous, with 6–8 claws depending on size.

Harajuku Starry Sky Cocktail — 50 NT
It comes in four flavors: cranberry, kiwi, apple, and blueberry. The owner said this drink was discovered in Harajuku and is commonly found in many cafes in Japan. The difference here lies in the base ingredients — the shop uses jam and yogurt drinks mixed with Taiwan’s unique butterfly pea flowers. Its vibrant color makes it especially popular with women.
As part of a special promotion, from now until the end of August, customers who show the "ETNEWS News Cloud" app when making a purchase can receive a free Harajuku Starry Sky Cocktail worth 50 NT!!
