"Travel by Forest Railway" Cruise Train Makes Maiden Voyage on September 10, Runs Weekly

Although the Alishan Forest Railway is not yet fully operational, its stunning scenery and unique rail experience continue to attract domestic and international travelers. Recently, Taiwan Railways (TRA) has planned to launch a cruise-style train service titled "Travel by Forest Railway," operating once a week on Wednesdays, with its maiden voyage scheduled for September 10. The round-trip fare is NT$480.

The Alishan Forest Railway had previously launched several cruise train services, all of which were extremely popular among rail fans. This new "Travel by Forest Railway" cruise-style train service by TRA will run on a regular weekly schedule every Wednesday, giving fans of the Alishan Forest Railway more opportunities to ride.

The "Travel by Forest Railway" cruise train departs from Chiayi Station at 8:30 AM and returns to Chiayi Station at 5:30 PM. Along the way, passengers can admire wooden houses and view the triangular railway line at Zhushan Station, stroll through the green tunnel at Zhangnaoliao Station, and observe the third-loop spiral climbing route at Duli Mountain Station.

Ticket booking for the "Travel by Forest Railway" cruise train is divided into group bookings and individual bookings. Group bookings can be made up to 29 days (inclusive) before the travel date, while individual bookings can be made up to 15 days (inclusive) before the travel date. The package includes both outbound and return tickets, priced at NT$480 per set. TRA reminds passengers that payment must be remitted to the designated account within three days (including the booking day) after completing the phone reservation, or the reservation will be canceled.
