The whole field of pink is super romantic—visit Thailand’s “dream destination” to see flowers like never before

Traveling abroad to admire flowers is one of the most romantic things to do in any season. Whether it’s cherry blossoms in Japan, maple leaves in Korea, tulips in the Netherlands, or lavender in France, but have you ever thought about seeing unbelievably romantic flowers in Thailand? The Tourism Authority of Thailand has compiled a flower-viewing calendar featuring different blooms across the country throughout the year. Among themthe vast expanse of pink lotus ponds in Udon Thani Province is truly breathtaking.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand stated that not long ago, it officially launched the “2015 Dream Destinations,” where horticultural experts created a flower-viewing calendar for Thailand. Whether for local or international visitors, there is an optimal flower-viewing spot every month to experience Thailand’s enchanting floral displays. In addition to enjoying the stunning scenery, visitors can also go hiking and have a picnic.

【Thailand Tourism Authority’s Annual Flower-Viewing Calendar】

January:Visit Phrom Ron in Dan Sai District, Loei Province to admire Himalayan wild berries, head to Wang Nam Jok District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province for vibrant chrysanthemums, and enjoy the elegant tulips at the Chiang Rai Flower Festival.

February:In Suphan Buri Province, silver-rain trees bloom along Highway 3502 from Sam Chuk District to Dan Chang District, witness the sea of red lotuses in Kumphavapi District, Udon Thani Province, and visit the Orchid or Butterfly Tree Festival at Chae Son National Park in Lampang Province, northern Thailand.
March:Near Kan Phang Subdistrict, Nakhon Pathom Province, the pink or red trumpet trees of Kasetsart University are in full bloom.
April:On the way to Khon Kaen, enjoy the beautiful golden rain trees (Cassia fistula) in bloom, and see lotus and water lilies on the lake in Thale Noi Wildlife Sanctuary in Phatthalung Province.
May:Bright yellow ylang-ylang flowers bloom in Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, Phatthalung Province.
June:Admire the enchanting lotus ponds along the Mahasawat Canal in Nakhon Pathom Province.

July:Go to admire Siamese tulips in Thepsathit District, Chaiyaphum Province, and in Saraburi Province, enjoy the Dok Khao Phansa flowers traditionally offered to monks during the Buddhist Rains Retreat, such as those found on Khao Suwan Banphot, Khao Wong, and Khao Phu.
August:Admire the blooming okra flowers in Thung Tako Subdistrict, Songkhla Province.
September:In Phu Soi Dao National Park, Uthai Thani Province, watch the blue Dok Ngon Nak flowers sway on the grasslands.
October:Enjoy the wildflowers in Phu Tham Phra National Park, Kong Khen Subdistrict, Ubon Ratchathani Province.
November:The blooming sunflower fields on the hills of Umphang in Mae Hong Son Province paint the entire mountain a beautiful golden yellow, while Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Chonburi Province offers a chance to admire Thai cacti.
December:Take a stroll through the blooming coffee plantations in Chumphon Province or the Poo Ruak Christmas Fields in Rayong Province, or visit the sunflower fields of Khao Krajai Mountain in Loei Province when they are at their most beautiful.
