If being an elementary school student is the happiest and most joyful time of life, then attending class in a picturesque campus must send happiness levels through the roof. Fengyuan Elementary School in downtown Taitung is Taiwan’s one and only elementary school with blue-and-white European-style architecture. Its strong romantic charm attracts many visitors, and you might just find yourself snapping way too many photos.

With over 50 years of history, Fengyuan Elementary School underwent reconstruction due to persistent water leakage issues caused by the original poorly designed school buildings, which had become unusable. The now iconic blue-and-white Mediterranean-style campus was officially completed and opened in March 2012. The campus exudes the romantic vibe of the Aegean Sea, attracting many couples to take their wedding photos there.

The wavy curves of the roof, the arched doorways, and the blue-and-white walls all create an Aegean Sea ambiance that instantly envelops you in romance the moment you step onto the campus.

Please note: As classes are still in session, the campus is not open to visitors from Monday to Friday. It is open on weekends but restrooms are not available for public use. Please visit during opening hours and take your trash with you to help keep the campus clean.
